Hiring me into the EU or Canada

Everything a recruiter or hiring manager needs to scope the move, so the answer costs zero emails.

01

Where I'm going

Netherlands (primary), Ireland, Canada. Open to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Dublin, Cork, Toronto, Vancouver. Hybrid or on-site is fine — no remote-only requirement.

02

What you need to sponsor

Netherlands: a highly-skilled migrant permit through a recognised sponsor (IND-registered). Ireland: a Critical Skills Employment Permit. Both are routine, employer-initiated, and both are satisfied through the salary/experience route — no degree requirement at this salary band. Canada: open to discussion, LMIA or Global Talent Stream.

03

Timeline

Standard permit processing, no exotic paperwork. I am currently in Dubai and will be hired from Dubai, which is what the Dutch 30% ruling requires of the employer.

04

Family

My spouse is work-authorized on the dependent permit from day one — no separate permit needed, no second job search blocking the move.

05

What I'd want in a package

Visas for two, permit costs, and temporary housing for the first two to three months. In Dublin and Amsterdam, temporary housing is not a perk — it is the difference between starting on time and not.

06

What I don't need

A remote-only arrangement, an unusual contract structure, or any accommodation beyond a standard relocation package.
